Final post
Hi Everyone,
Hope you had a nice weekend. As we would be due to get the summer holidays tomorrow I am putting up the final posting for the class blog today. I am not putting up any work but I am sure you will have plenty to keep you busy over the next few weeks.
I would like to thank you for all of the work and messages over the last few months. Your engagement and discipline of working from home has been phenomenal. Also to your parent's who have helped you and kept you motivated. I know it's been hard but it is so important. Hopefully we will all see each other for our first day of school at the end of August. Until then I hope you all have a great and safe summer holidays. Take care and see you soon.

Hi hope you are all well. As this was the last week of written work that we had, I would like to take the opportunity to thank you all for the hard work you have been done at home over the last few months. It is hard to believe it has been that long and I know it has been a big transition for everyone. Hopefully the measures that were put in place will ensure we will be back safely to school in September.
I have included the answers to this weeks planet math's book if you click on the links below. I have also posted some activities you might like to try at home yourself for the summer. These are for your own enjoyment and you don't need to post them on See saw or anything. Try them out if you like. I have also included some virtual tours you might like to look at.
Also Water Safety Ireland has created a free educational resource for primary schools called PAWS (Primary Aquatics Water Safety). PAWS outlines life-saving guidelines for children of every age and is available digitally to every school in the country. It teaches children how to be safe around water in homes, farms, pools, beaches and on our waterways. With the summer holidays starting and restrictions on movement beginning to ease it may be a good thing to look at to refresh your safety around water.
If you have any work that you would like corrected please send it to me on see saw or to the email address: coralstownfifth@gmail.com. Hope you have a lovely weekend. Take care.

We are now coming to the end of our school year. There is so much for you to look forward to. Your summer holidays, being able to meet your friends. The future is so exciting! For now, I would like you to pause and think about all the things you are grateful for; all of the ways in which you have grown and all of the wonderful skills and talents you have.
I would like you to complete this art project, ‘I am grateful for...’. Start with drawing the tree, which is the picture on the top left.
The next part is the picture underneath where you can fill in some of the things in your life that you are grateful for on the branches of the tree. Your family, your health and the health of your family for example.
The main picture on the right is the final part, colour your background and outline the branches and words in black marker. I would love to see some of your finished products!

Virtual sports day
Because we’d usually be spending time in June preparing for our annual Sports Day, we didn’t want you to miss out on a Sports Day this year. There are a number of fun sporting events that will allow you to compete against the other pupils in your class. The first thing you need to do is plan your activities. The list of activities are here. Activities
There are 6 different task areas with three different levels of difficulty. Running, throwing, kicking, landing, traditional sports day and balancing. There is a video instruction for each task. When you have looked at the activities you can decide which ones you would like to try and you can fill out the sports day planner.
Sports_day_planner
There is also a 2 stars and a wish card for each event. You can rate the activity and suggest how you might or did change it.
two_stars_and_a_wish
To record our progress I have also set up a Padlet wall where you can post messages or pictures of how you got on and your classmates will be able to see these. The messages will appear on the wall once I authorise them. This ensures that they are from the class and are appropriate.
Virtual_sports_day_wall
It is up to you what day you plan your Virtual Sports Day or maybe you will have it over a number of days. You will have the next two weeks to try the activities from the Monday the 8th to Friday 19th June.
I am really looking forward to seeing how you get on with the activities.

This week because we are coming near to the summer holidays I thought it would be nice to try out a few more active things that you could do outside.
In June we usually would be getting ready for our sports day and going on our school tour. With this in mind I have set up a virtual sports day that you can try over the next two weeks. If you look at the post virtual sports day it will explain how it works. You could pick a day or do it over a number of days. It would be great to hear how you get on with it.
The second thing I have set up is a virtual school tour. Again if you look at the post for it, it explains how it works.
The rest of the week’s suggested menu of
activities is also here Please do your best on the activities that you get
