Hello Everyone!

Welcome to the new fourth and fifth class blog! I will be using this blog moving forward to allocate work for you to do at home. Please don’t feel that you have to complete all the work given. The work on this page is just a suggestion of what you may do if you wish. Please don’t try to get every single thing done. If you do a little each day it will serve you very well and ensure that you are ready for school when we start back again.

I will be posting every week with more work. If you want to show me some of the work that you’ve been doing you can take a picture of it and put it up on See saw. I have already sent you a code to get you set up on it. If you have trouble with seesaw you can also send me work at this email address coralstownfifth@gmail.com

I hope you are all getting out for plenty of fresh air and are helping around the house as well. It is important that we help each other at this important time and remember that it will not be forever. As I'm sure your parent's have been telling you, remember to keep washing your hands and to keep apart from other people who are not in your home. From what I have seen so far children are really heading this advice and are an example to us adults. Keep it up!

See saw
Seesaw is an e-portfolio platform that we use very regularly in class across all subject areas. If you feel like the children can access Seesaw from an Ipad or laptop, I have issued each child with an individual access code this weekend. You should have gotten this on Friday. If you have any problem setting up just email me. You need the latest version of See saw if you download it as an app. This code is valid until June and you can put up some of your work and amazing pictures when you finish them. 😃

Irish:

TG4 has some excellent children's programming on during the day. Also there will be an Irish lesson each day on the RTE school hub between 11 and 12 each day.

I've attached below the next 3 pages in our Irish book. Practice reading over the cluiche ríomhaire leis na blianta and the comhrá, trying reading it outloud once or twice a day.  Do your best and give the questions a go.

4th class Maths

Maths: 4th class

You can continue on with week 28 of your Master your maths and also I have put up the correction sheets on See saw.

I hope you have been occupied with working on weight at home. Below is our next few pages of math's on weight. The practical work you would have done at home should help you through this and some of the work is oral not written. You should fly through it just remember to put your decimal points under each other when adding or subtracting. Don't forget your g and kg signs.

Google maps also has a virtual tour of the sites of the 1916 rising. Have a look through the various sites. Try to think of some of the buildings you may already know about and their history in Dublin.

Try to write about either one of the leaders of the Rising or one of the places it took place in, in Dublin.
