Rivers and seas
Our rivers and seas are an important part of our lives. We depend on them for a lot of things. For travel, for water, for our wildlife. The power of our rivers can be harnessed to create electricity. Fishermen depend on our seas and rivers for fish. However our seas and rivers can have a negative effect on people as well for example when rivers flood or sea levels rise in storms. I want you to read about Carla from Honduras who lives close to the sea. Climate change is affecting her and her friends life in a big way in Honduras. There are also some videos to explain climate change and climate justice and how they effect poorer countries.

 Can you do some research on one of these poorer countries and see how climate change may be affecting them. I have included an example of a factfile of a Honduras (picture below) here as an example to help you get started. You could write about a country that is affected or how rising sea levels happens. You could also write a diary by someone like Carla who is affected by climate change. Here are some websites where you can find information about climate change and rising seas in various countries:
